Welcome to “The Heart of Organizing” Blog

In this blog, the word “heart” has 2 meanings. First, as in the “heart of the matter,” it means the most central and important part. Second, it is a compassionate and non-judgmental approach that comes from the heart. My intention is to inspire you to get in touch with, and to empower you to act on, what is most important in your life.

I started podcasting a few months ago. The blog will start out parallel to “The Heart of Organizing” podcast (each blog entry will be the transcript of a corresponding podcast). The two will eventually diverge as I learn how to make use of the specific features of each forum. If you’re able to, I highly recommend listening to the podcast. It has great information, is easy to listen to, has great music, and you can listen to it while doing other things.

My name is Andy Hartman and I have been a professional organizer for nine years. During that time I have developed a unique approach and perspective. The blog and podcast are my attempt to share this approach with anyone who can benefit from it.

Feel free to make comments. I welcome any feedback.

Thanks for the feedback, Marie. I’m curious why you prefer the blog over the podcast. What about that format do you prefer? I’d like to know this so I can connect with the readers effectively. Any insights you have will be appreciated.

I am thrilled to find this blog. I recently discovered your podcast and it has helped me more than anything else to conquer clutter. I have many books and have done a lot of research on the topic of hoarding/decluttering and you speak to me the most. I was prepared to type notes from your podcast so I can continually refer to a hard copy of your ideas until they became engraved in my memory. I like both podcasts and blogs – podcasts I can listen to over and over….blogs provide me the written copy which is how I learn best as I am a visual learner. I am looking to send you a contribution for this excellent information.
